: Western Digital says hack exposed personal customer info, those affected alerted

Western Digital Corp. WDC said Friday a recent hack of its systems contained personal customer information, and that those affected have been alerted. Western Digital said it discovered unauthorized access “to a number of the company’s systems,” on March 26, and on April 2 disclosed the incident, disconnected its systems from the public internet and investigated with forensic experts. “In collaboration with outside forensic experts, we confirmed that an unauthorized party obtained a copy of a Western Digital database used for our online store that contained some personal information of our online store customers,” the…
