U.S. stocks toggle between slight gains and losses heading into final hour of trading


All three major indexes moved with little conviction in the final hour of trading on Monday, as investors remained reluctant to put on big positions ahead of Wednesday’s anticipated rate decision from the Federal Reserve. Dow industrials DJIA, +0.64% were up 55 points, or 0.2%, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.69% was up by 8 points. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.76% was up by 36 points, or 0.3%.
