: U.S. stocks open mixed, with Dow heading for slight weekly loss

U.S. stocks opened mixed Friday as investors awaited economic data on U.S. manufacturing and services. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.26% was up 0.1% soon after the opening bell, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.25% edged up less than 0.1% and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.28% slipped 0.1%, according to FactSet data, at last check.
