Noodles & Co. adds plant-based Impossible options

Noodles & Co. NDLS, -1.51% said Thursday that it has added Panko Chicken made by Impossible Foods to menus in select markets. A plant-based Impossible Orange Chicken Lo Mein is also available, in addition to a traditional meat version. Customers have already responded positively to the company’s additions of Zoodles and Caulifloodles, according to Nick Graff, Noodles & Co.’s executive chef. Plant-based items have popped up on many quick-serve and fast-casual menus. Noodles & Co. stock has slumped 42.5% over the past year while the S&P 500 index SPX, +1.17% is up 10.2% for the period.
