Nasdaq jumps 1.5% as stocks attempt rebound; Meta shares surge

Stock-index futures were up sharply after the opening bell Thursday, trying to shake off some April gloom as tech-related shares led the bounce. Shares of Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. FB, +12.23% jumped 15% cheered better-than-expected subscriber numbers. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.28% advanced 105 points, or 0.3%, while the Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.59% advanced 1.5% and the S&P 500 SPX, +0.60% gained 0.9%.
