Macy’s Inc. M, +0.45% said Tuesday that it will add 37 Backstage store-in-store locations by June 2022. Backstage is the department store retailer’s off-price banner. The new Backstage shops will start rolling out on April 9 and will range in size from 11,000 square feet to 16,000 square feet. Macy’s State Street in Chicago and Herald Square in New York City will each get a Backstage shop. Macy’s stock is up 2.4% in early Tuesday trading, and has rallied 54.2% over the last year.
