Latest Gallup poll shows 68% of U.S. adults favor legalizing marijuana, flat with year-ago approval


Support for legalization of cannabis stood fast at the record high of 68% of Americans, Gallup said Tuesday. The figure is flat with results from 2021 with strongest support from more liberal and younger Americans. In data combined from the years 2018 to 2022, liberals aged 18 to 29 were the most supportive of 12 subgroups with 86% supporting legalization. Conservatives aged 65 and older were the least supportive, with 32% in favor. However, 65% of conservatives aged 18 to 29 support cannabis legalization.
