Gold futures settle at a 3-week low

Gold futures fell for a fourth straight session on Thursday to settle at their lowest price in three weeks. Prices for the metal declined after data revealed a weekly fall in U.S. jobless claims and the U.S. dollar strengthened, said Jeff Wright, chief investment officer at Wolfpack Capital. December gold GCZ22, -0.15% fell $5.50, or 0.3%, to settle at $1,771.20 an ounce. Prices based on the most-active contract settled at their lowest since July 28, FactSet data showed.
