U.S. stocks rose sharply at the open on Tuesday, looking to add to their gains from Monday’s session, which saw the Nasdaq Composite log its biggest percentage-point gain since July. The Nasdaq COMP gained 288 points, or 2.7%, to 10,963. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA climbed 619 points, or 2.1%, to 30,804. Shares of Dow components Johnson & Johnson JNJ, -0.22% and Goldman Sachs Group GS, +4.26% both rallied after reporting third-quarter earnings.
