Dow industrials head for third straight session of gains in final hour of trading

Dow industrials DJIA, -0.63% remained higher in the final hour of trading on Monday, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.89% struggled to hold onto a slight gain, as investors weighed whether the U.S. may have already moved past the peak of inflation. The Dow was up 0.3% and the S&P 500 was higher by 0.2%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -1.12% retreated from afternoon gains and slipped by less than 0.1%.
